My Most Productive Move is Pausing
The surprising power of creative breaks and why I'm taking one now.
Hey friends,
There’s a fascinating paradox in creative work: the biggest breakthroughs often happen when we’re not “working” at all. They come to us in the shower, on a long walk, or while staring out a window. It’s in these moments of intentional pause that our minds get to work connecting the dots in the background. The most productive thing we can do, sometimes, is nothing at all.
I’ve been thinking about that a lot lately.
Writing the Grinning & Solving newsletter has been a joy—an escape at times, and always an inspiration. But as summer rolls in, bringing with it the beautiful chaos of family and long evenings, I feel the pull to step back and create some of that "unproductive" space. So, I'm hitting "pause" on new articles to chase my kids, get lost in a few good books, and simply let my curiosity wander without a deadline.
The newsletter itself isn’t going anywhere. All existing articles will remain right here, available for you to revisit at any time. Think of it as an intermission, not a finale.
I am deeply grateful for you—for your time, your thoughts, and the trust you’ve shown by reading along. Thank you for making this a space worth returning to. I’ll be back before you know it, refocused, recharged, and ready to dive into the next chapter together.
Wishing you a sun-drenched, curiosity-filled summer,
Taric
P.S. If there’s a particular topic you’d love to see when I return, hit the comment and let me know. I’d love to carry your ideas into the next round.
